Programme aims:

The coaching qualification aims to provide participants with:

  • a critical understanding of the role and responsibilities of the workplace management coach and mentor
  • a deeper understanding of how coaching and mentoring can impact an organisation.
  • tools and time to assess your own skills, behaviours and knowledge as a coach and mentor and provide
  • evidence of your own development as a workplace management coach and workplace mentor
  • an opportunity to practice and receive feedback on your coaching practice

 

Content:

  • A critique of coaching and mentoring models
  • Reviewing and developing the key coaching and mentoring skills of listening, building rapport and questioning
  • Exploring and overcoming potential, personal and organisational barriers to coaching and mentoring
  • Negotiating and contracting within coaching and mentoring
  • Understanding the business case for coaching and mentoring
  • Exploring the impact of personality and learning approaches on coaching and mentoring
  • Experimenting with tools and techniques that support effective coaching and mentoring

 

Assessment:

This programme requires formal assessment including

Assignment 1: Understanding good practice in workplace coaching

Assignment 2: Undertaking coaching in the workplace – this includes a reflective coaching diary which reflects on 18 hours’ worth of workplace coaching.
