The Escape Room for Coaches: A Space to Think Differently, Feel Deeply and Act Courageously

Escape Room for Coaches: Reflect deeply, Review client work, Learn with others

April 20, 20263 min read

As Coaches the veil between our thinking partners stories and our own can become thin and confusing, sometimes we can feel a little stuck or uncertain.

We give much energy and time creating spaces for others so they can see more of themselves, challenge their own narratives and continue to grow. We can often forget to create the space for us to see more of ourselves as a coach, challenge the narratives that we carry about those we work with and develop and grow own own approach.

Just like its physical counterpart, our Escape Room is a virtual space where Coaches gather to examine all the pieces of their own puzzles and find clues to new ways of moving forward.

It brings people together so that they can benefit from the individual and collective wisdom that appears by having a safe place to escape to.

The Escape Room is a dedicated, professionally facilitated space, held with care and intention and with a structure based on Action Learning: a proven, dynamic process of collective inquiry, deep reflection, and decisive action.

Rooted in the pioneering work of Professor Reg Revans, Action Learning is widely recognised as a cornerstone of modern organisational development — cultivating resilience, fresh perspectives, and meaningful change from within.

In this monthly sanctuary, Coaches:

  • Step away from the noise — to think deeply about their practice

  • Surface new ideas and hidden connections that routine work obscures

  • Gain honest support and challenge from trusted peers

  • Reaffirm the practises of powerful listening and inquiry

  • Leave with clear, courageous actions and renewed energy for what lies ahead

Regular visits to the Escape Room build:

  • An inner understanding that responsibility and reflection go hand in hand

  • Strategies to navigate the complexity of their work

  • Breakthroughs on persistent, complex issues

  • Strong collaboration and trust amongst peers

  • Improvements in practice and wellbeing

How the Escape Room Works

Every 90-minute Escape Room session is expertly facilitated and follows a set of guidelines informed by Action Learning Set methodology and Therapeutic supervision.

A chosen member brings his or her challenges to the session, after which peers ask insightful, non-judgmental questions to unlock new thinking. Peers are welcome to mirror patterns and perspectives geared at unlocking new thinking in the presenter. There is no advice giving. After receiving questions and reflections, the presenter distills their insights into concrete next steps and commitments. Where helpful, peers offer additional ideas and experiences as possibilities — never prescriptions. Each session concludes by capturing individual and collective learning, ensuring growth beyond the room.

Space2Be-Human hosts monthly virtual Escape Room sessions with a maximum capacity of 10 seats per session. You can pay as you go or acquire a 10-session pass up front. The greatest benefit is attained when a group of regular participants meets for a period of 3-6 consecutive months. A group can decide to “close its particular doors” for a period to allow for deeper connection and learning together.

Are you ready to:

  • Take care of your self as a coach

  • Build strong relationships — rooted in trust and courageous conversations

  • Develop your practice
